Some atmospheric night
shots taken by Andy Sollis on March 1st 2008 when 44422 was employed
on a Wine and Dine train on The Churnet Valley Railway. Here
the engine is waiting at Cheddleton to depart for Froghall. 01/03/2008

a run-round manoeuvre at Froghall Station with the security lighting
at the Thomas Bolton site providing the illumination. 01/03/2008
Waiting to leave
for Cheddleton with shafts of light picking out the drifting
steam. 01/03/2008
Another fine shot
of the 4F leaving Cheddleton on the Wine & Dine Special,
this time from the camera of David Gibson. 01/03/2008

approaching Leekbrook tunnel. 09/03/2008
On what became known
as Green Arrow weekend, 44422 was still the star for me. Seen
here bursting out of Leekbrook tunnel en route for Froghall.

A later train departing
from Consall. 09/03/2008
And arrival at Froghall
complete with that rusty chimney. During its minor overhaul at Crewe, prior to running on the GCR, it had
been noticed that the chimney was rusty but, had we painted it,
it would have become somewhat conspicuous. 09/03/2008
44422 fits the scene
well apart from wrong line working! 09/03/2008
